For a more detailed history see the initial post “Dear God, WHY?!?”
What I’m trying here is an experiment in incentivized writing. It’s been years since I seriously sat down and wrote something, although ideas have been bouncing about the capacious cavern in my cranium for some time.
So I grabbed the one that had the second most fully formed skeleton, a concept for a musical made by stitching together other people’s songs and some of Shakespeare’s text, in an attempt to do better with Bob Carlton’s concept then Carlton himself.
First I’m writing the Synopsis, then proceeding to post the modified Song Lyrics, then carrying on to fill in the dialogue with adapted Shakespearean lines. The final product is intended to be fun and hilarious and maybe a little touching. The subtitle of the play is “Time Heals All”, as with its basis, The Winter’s Tale”, and even though, like the old Bard, I’m playing with live emotional ammo, everything works out in the end without recourse to a deus ex machina.
